Architectural Metal Fabrication Example - PON XVI Fire Torch Project
	MBP was proud to provide its tube bending and plate rolling service to fabricate this beautiful piece of architectural metal fabrication. This fire torch was created for Indonesia’s 2004 Pekan Olahraga Nasional XVI in Palembang, South Sumatera. The project was done successfully within a very stringent time limit.

Pipe Bending

Pipe Bending, also known as Tube Bending, is a process MBP has executed time and time again. For architectural metal fabrication needs, the cold bending technique is exclusively used to achieve the desired degree angle or any offset pipe bends. Click here to learn more about pipe bending.

Dish End and Flanging Services

MBP used this service to create the exquisite PON XVI Fire Torch. Dish-End is a process where we take a circle shaped flat sheet of steel and apply force section by section in order to create a smooth bowl shape. When force is applied to a specific part of a sheet of steel, the steel deforms and creates a dent. We then release the force, and apply the same force to the other part of the steel to create more dents. We repeat the same process again and again so that the force is evenly distributed and finally the steel has a bowl shape. This process is done manually by our operators. Rigorous training and experience guarantees the job to be done correctly every time.

Dish-End process has its drawbacks. It usually creates wrinkles around the edges. This is where flanging comes into play. The flanging process smooths out the wrinkles and creates perfectly rounded edges.
